Having lived in De Beque, Grand Junction, Denver and Fairplay, he moved to Thomasville, Mo., in 1982. He entered eternal rest at home in Thomasville on June 21, 2010, at the age of 74 years. On May 29, 1954, he was married at De Beque, Colo., to Alma Arlene Hiner. Together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with four children and raised his nephew Pete Park. Virgil loved spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish and work in his garden. He is survived by his wife, Alma, of the family home; five children, Patty Rich and her husband, Leonard, Pete Park, Kenny Park, Bobby Park and his wife, Kathy, Scott Park and his wife, Shelley; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Micham and her husband, Harold, and Velta Thompson; twin brother Vestal Park; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bobby Ray and Ruby Park; three brothers, Travis, Walter and Chester; and two sisters, Veida and Bobbie Jo. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, Mo., with Brother Van Williams officiating.
